About the CIS Economic Council Meeting

On June 26, 2026, the 110th meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Moscow. The Russian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Vladimir Ilyichev. The Interstate Bank President A.V. Bakulin participated in the meeting.

Participants discussed a wide range of issues related to economic cooperation among CIS member states. Particular attention was paid to digital transformation.

"CIS countries continue to develop their economic potential and cooperative ties. In January-April 2026, Russia's foreign trade turnover with the CIS countries amounted to almost 16%. Exports increased by 5%, and imports by 13%. Russia's main trading partners in the CIS remain Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan," Vladimir Ilyichev noted.

The next meeting of the CIS Economic Council is scheduled for September 2026 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
