Participants discussed a wide range of issues related to economic cooperation among CIS member states. Particular attention was paid to digital transformation.
"CIS countries continue to develop their economic potential and cooperative ties. In January-April 2026, Russia's foreign trade turnover with the CIS countries amounted to almost 16%. Exports increased by 5%, and imports by 13%. Russia's main trading partners in the CIS remain Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan," Vladimir Ilyichev noted.
The next meeting of the CIS Economic Council is scheduled for September 2026 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
