On September, 11 the 111th meeting of the CIS Economic Council was held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. The meeting was attended by A.V. Bakulin, President of the Interstate Bank.
During the meeting of the CIS Economic Council, a wide range of issues related to economic cooperation among the CIS member states was considered. In particular, the participants reviewed the draft Comprehensive Action Plan for 2026–2030 for the implementation of the Interstate Programme for Innovation Cooperation among the CIS Member States through 2030.
The participants also discussed barriers to mutual trade among the CIS member states and recommendations for their removal. The information presented at the meeting was compiled on the basis of data received from the CIS member states on safeguard, anti-dumping and countervailing measures currently applied; temporary prohibitions; goods subject to licensing and quotas; restrictions imposed by other parties that impede or hinder the development of mutual trade; as well as the outcomes of meetings of the High-Level Working Group established to review complaints concerning barriers to mutual trade among the CIS member states.
A number of organisations were granted the status of CIS base organisations.
